Sean Stapleton serves as Chairman of Alcova Associates, a USMEDIC company (“Alcova”).
Founded in 2010, Alcova provides consulting services to organizations seeking to either develop or reimagine their equipment maintenance programs. Sean has years of experience in the equipment maintenance and service plan industry and an unmatched understanding of developing programs that delight customers yet are cost effective for organizations to implement and manage.
Currently, Sean also serves in various leadership roles for USMEDIC, and it subsidiary MedGuard. Previously, Sean served as Chairman of Amynta Warranty, as well as CEO and President of AMT Warranty Corporation, which is now part of Amynta Warranty. Amynta Warranty and its various subsidiary companies offer warranty administration, equipment protection and financial protection programs to partners in the automotive, telecommunications, consumer products, commercial equipment and finance industries. Sean led AMT Warranty for six years and helped facilitate the sale of the company to the private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners.
Sean previously held positions as Vice President of Legal and Governmental Affairs for National Electronics Warranty (N.E.W.) and served in various leadership capacities at Warranty Corporation of America, an Asurion company. Additionally, Sean has served as a Board member and advisor to multiple companies; helping to mentor and guide organizations and their leadership teams.
Sean was previously elected to serve on the Board of Industry Leaders for the Consumer Technology Association (the sponsor of the Consumer Electronics Show) and to the Board of Directors for the Service Contract Industry Council (SCIC). He is a frequent industry speaker and lectures on insurance, reinsurance and alternative risk sharing programs.
Sean holds a B.S. in Business Administration from State University of New York and a J.D. from Quinnipiac University.
Tim Rhiem serves as Chief Executive Officer of Alcova.
Tim brings more than 30 years of progressive leadership in the technology management career field and has worked for the military (USAF, DOD), original equipment manufacturers (GE & Siemen), hospitals (Banner Health & Cook County Hospital) and independent service organizations (Airmark & Sodexo). Tim is one of fewer than 200 dual credited technology management professionals in the USA with both biomedical engineer technologist (CBET) and radiological equipment specialist (CRES) certifications.
Tim was previously Vice President and Head of Technology Optimization Partners for Siemens Healthineers. In his time at Siemens, he successfully created and launched Siemens Multivendor program into a world class solution branded as Technology Optimization Partnerships or TOP. This unique approach to multivendor services (MV) quickly gained market traction and expanded capabilities beyond traditional MV offerings. The success ultimately culminated into one of the industry's most innovative Joint Venture partnerships between Siemens and Common Spirit Health the JD collectively purchased Block Imaging services which is a medical parts and refurbished equipment broker.
Prior to joining Siemens Healthineers, Tim was Regional Vice President for Sodexo CTM covering all healthcare technology management operations in the US. As the VP of HTM operations, Tim created a successful “hub and spoke” network model that increased average contract lengths from 3 to 6.2 years on average by leveraging greater support and coverage for his client base. Tim also created a complex service delivery network covering over 600 mobile CT and MRI coaches across the united states with a guaranteed 2 hr. response time.
Tim previously served as Vice President of Technology Management for Banner Health. In that role he was responsible for all health care technology systems across the 30-hospital organization. From bio-med, imaging and radiation physics, to technology assessment and capital planning, the scope of his duties were both far reaching and fundamental to Banner Health winning the 2015 program of the year award from TechNation magazine – where his department supported more than 145,000 medical devices with the capital acquisition value greater than 1.5 billion.
Tom Neathamer serves as Executive Vice President of Alcova.
Tom will be responsible for developing new market segments and expansion of USMedic geographic footprint. Tom has over 20 years’ experience in the development of strategic market partnerships such as Kansas Hospital Association, Washington Hospital Association, South Carolina Hospital Association – which developed into the Aggregate Alliance covering over 8 Hospital Associations. GPO – MedAssets (Vizient), Amerinet (Intalere) and Premier. National ISOs such as Sodexo, National Imaging Services and American Medical Imaging and the National Rural Hospital Association.
Tom also developed agreements through PricewaterhouseCoopers for International Pharma, such as Eli Lilly and PPD. And National labs - BCA and McCoy Labs.
Tom specializes in acute and non-acute field of healthcare and has expansive experience in both the rural and IDN market segments. Tom brings several existing strategic relationships to USMedic and is poised to increase the family of USMedic partnerships across the healthcare market.
Steve Knapp serves as a Chief Financial Officer for Alcova specializing in the development of risk management solutions that deliver economic growth and stability for clients.
Steve Knapp also serves as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer for USMEDIC where he leads financial operations and risk management. USMEDIC has been a leading provider of comprehensive equipment maintenance solutions to the healthcare and medical research communities since 1994. USMEDIC’s programs provide protection, cost containment and equipment performance reporting & analytics, tailored to fit each partner’s unique needs. The organization is focused on the healthcare market, including, surgical centers, clinics, hospitals, dental offices, skilled nursing facilities and laboratories throughout the United States.
Previously, Mr. Knapp served as Corporate Controller of Amynta Warranty, Vice President of Finance for AmTrust North America as well as CFO of AMT Warranty Corporation, which is now part of Amynta Warranty. Amynta Warranty and its various subsidiary companies offer warranty administration, equipment protection and financial protection programs to partners in the automotive, telecommunications, consumer products, commercial equipment and finance industries. Mr. Knapp lead the AMT Warranty and Amtrust North America Specialty Risk Finance Teams for over twelve years and helped facilitate the sale of the company to the private equity firm Madison Dearborn Partners.
Mr. Knapp previously held the position of Corporate Controller for Sirva Relocation. As a member of the executive team he was selected to run the organizations finance and accounting functions. In Addition, Mr. Knapp was the Senior Manager of Accounting and Finance of PRS Insurance Group where he directed all accounting and finance functions in a rapidly growing environment. Mr. Knapp holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University with a major in accounting and is Certified Public Accountant.
